The Meadow - August 17-18 (Days 26-27) - Cave B Estate Winery, Quincy Washington

The first two days of pickups happened in near-100 degree heat on the top of “Chimpanzee Point” on the Columbia River gorge. New COVID restrictions, installing a custom door on the ridge of a cliff, two full gear trucks, a cast & crew from all over the west coast, and even a rattlesnake we had to deal with. But the shots were beautiful!

Nuclear Reactor - January 14-17 (Days 7-10) - Satsop Nuclear Power Plant, Elma WA

Four shoot days at a decommissioned nuclear reactor tower and turbine building. The biggest days of the shoot, we added 2 crew members, a stunt team of 6, a weapons armorer, and stunt ratchet pulls over 40ft—all at a location that was so cold we didn’t need to take the coffee creamer home at the end of the day because it never got above 35°.

Stunts on the Beach - January 17 (Days 11) - Roosevelt Beach, Pacific Beach WA

Straight from the days at the nuclear reactor, we had a day full of stunts on the rainy, cold, windy beach. Actors in from Europe and Mexico, stunt doubles (that earned their adjustments!), a mobile production office in the back of an RV, and craft services out of the back of a truck! But the pulls looked good and the rain held for just enough time!

Family Home - Horseshoe Drive, Seabrook WA

The home base for most of principal photography, Seabrook was the screen home for the cast and the real-life home for the crew for January, 2020. There wasn’t a piece of furniture that we didn’t bring in: tables, chairs, couches, beds, artwork, bookshelves, and an entire piano. It looked amazing, but man was it a lot of work…

Pickups - August, 2020

When we wrapped in January, we thought we’d come back for a week or so in the summer to get some extra scenes—how fun! Then a global pandemic hit. But the cast and crew believed in the film so we masked up, social distanced the cast & crew, and got nasal swabbed. The result was some of the hardest work of our careers, but we made it without any sickness and captured some beautiful stuff.
